Journey planning and booking
You will receive a travel confirmation from us on completion of your booking. We will inform you of the exact departure times shortly before the start of the journey. During your journey planning, please be aware that there may be changes to the schedule at short notice. The shipping lines will make every effort to inform their guests as quickly as possible however they cannot be made liable for any time delays or similar alterations.

Methods of payment
You will receive an invoice for initial payment with your travel confirmation. 25 % of the total amount is then payable. You will receive the final invoice approximately four weeks before the start of the journey. Payment is then due.

Insurance
The shipping lines have limited liability. The terms and conditions of the individual shipping line apply. It is essential that you purchase overseas health insurance with repatriation cover. You can obtain more information about insurance policies from Hamburg Süd Reiseagentur GmbH.

Travel documents
Once payment has been received we will send you the ticket and all travel documentation approx. 10 days before the scheduled start of the journey.

Passport and visa regulations
Passport and visa requirements depend on the route of travel. Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they have the required documentation. Any information provided by us about visa regulations to specific destinations is non-binding. You can obtain correct and up-to-date visa information from the relevant embassy or consulate!

Language
It is of great advantage to have some command of English, since crews are frequently composed of a mixture of nationalities.

Health restrictions
Health restrictions depend on the specific journey route. Travellers are responsible for ensuring that they comply with formalities and should inform themselves well in time about any required vaccinations or preventative medicines that may be necessary. There is no doctor on board freighters. For your own safety, ensure that you are in a good condition to travel. If you wish, we can send you a blank medical certificate before you confirm your journey.

Age restrictions
There are generally age restrictions for passengers, but these vary between the different shipping lines. You can find out more about any special regulations from Hamburg Süd Reiseagentur GmbH.

Hamburg Süd Reiseagentur GmbH does not operate these journeys, but acts as an agent for travellers. The conditions of passage for the specific shipping line with whom the booking is made apply.
